Initially, I picked up this book because it reminded me of Brent Weeks' Night Angel Trilogy which is my all time favourite. I came to really love David Dalglish's writing style and the weave of his plotlines of the story. However, I hoped for more focus on Aaron/Haern's character and his perspective. This book really makes me appreciate dynamic characters in all books and stories. The suspense was built and layered well over the plot, it kept me turning the page so all in all, a very good read.
