it was amazing

How could I have come this far in my life and never read Julie Doucet? Perhaps this is too illuminating about me, but I found My New York Diary hilarious and utterly relate-able. Sisters from another mister.

Honest, to-the-bone funny and continually wide-eyed even as she is totally entrenched among titans of 90s comic publishing, this memoir overflows its pages literally and figuratively. Doucet's artwork is mind-bending, you need to take it in slowly, then all at once. It's a clusterf**k, but and incredibly skilled one, and I love it.
