This is a sweet story about a cynical girl and her super-hero squirrel. It's a middle grade book with lovely illustrations. Flora is a comic-reading loner who saves a squirrel who she names Ulysses. An unfortunate vacuum incident has led Ulysses to develop super powers such as the ability to fly and write poetry. Flora's mom is less than excited to have a squirrel in the house.

I am definitely not the intended audience for this book, but it was enjoyable. I think my younger self would have loved it --- although it does seem to have 10-letter words that I probably wouldn't have known at the age of 10 (not adult content -- just big words). The illustrations lend the book a sense of whimsy. The message is nice -- that everyone needs/deserves to feel love.
