This was a nice enough story about a girl who relies heavily on walking sticks to be mobile. She finds herself on her father's doorstep after the death of her grandmother. Her father turns out to be an alchemist and also to want nothing to do with her. It's nice to see some character development throughout the story. She begins to grow stronger and more capable and starts to make friends who see more than her walking sticks. The story was a little preachy and the dialect was a little annoying, but it was still good.
