#readathon17 ένα βιβλίο που αποτελεί το ντεμπούτο του συγγραφέα του
This took me a while to finish because I was reading the paper version and it stayed at home. I did not want it to finish, I loved getting lost in it. Another book that ticks many of my boxes, history, mythology, fantasy, magic, complex characters that grow and evolve over the course of the book. Characters that the reader bonds with and feels like she's known them for ages by the end of it. The plot was a little slow and took a while to get to its climax, but I loved reading about the characters and the immigrant neighborhoods of New York at the turn of the 20th century, so that didn't bother me. It's a great book to get lost in, so wonderfully complex, evocative and human. I think I'll want to read it again at some point. 4.5*
