it was ok

Meh. Adventure novels should have such a grip on you that you can't put it down. This was very put-downable. Nice twist at the end, nice main characters--all minor characters are barely sketched in. A little bit of romance. Archeologist Tess Chaykin is present at the gala opening of an exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art of Vatican treasures, when four horsemen dressed as Templar knights attack, stealing and destroying priceless artifacts--and taking an odd mechanical object that Tess was just admiring. FBI terrorist specialist Sean Reilly investigates, and Tess's research proves helpful. But Tess places herself in grave danger to discover the an ancient treasure sought by the criminal who planned the attack.
