So I see that Daisy's still an idiot while Nikolai is still wonderful. I don't know how he puts up with her. Really. I guess ignorance is bliss. Poor guy doesn't know any better lol.
Daisy is a real dunce bat. Case in point: the party Nick organizes for her. Ok, I get it. Homegirl was homeschooled and isolated with a paranoid agoraphobe. But we know that he let her leave the house, even if she was under time constraints. Am I to really believe that in all her observations she couldn't use common sense in real-life situations??? Come on!! Her ignorance isn't cute like Nikolai's. He at least has a real reason for not knowing about social norms. Daisy was sneaking to read romance novels and she was allowed to run errands. She allowed herself to be a victim. Too bad she didn't have a friend to help, but come on! Was she walking around her hometown with her eyes closed? She wasn't a complete fool because she knew enough to swap out generic brands for name brands to save money. Too bad her smarts didn't cross over into other areas of her life.
Anyhoo, Nikolai was as scrumptious as ever. I do love his devotion to Daisy. Their love is epic so that does indeed save this story. However, I had to knock off a star in my rating because Daisy showed her stupidity by trying to be Christine's friend despite Nick's warnings to the contrary. Hello? Why the frig didn't you listen to the one person in the entire world who's got your back???!!! WTH?!
