really liked it
bookshelves: 2016-reading-challenge

** spoiler alert ** 3.5 stars for the duration, 5 for the payoff.

I wasn't riveted like I was with Life After Life, but Atkinson's writing somehow kept me pinned and turning pages. So many unlikeable characters (OH VIOLA), the plot was often a little slow - and yet it somehow didn't matter. I kept reading, and quickly.

Without giving anything away, the payoff certainly made it worth it. I know it's a book I'll think about for years to come; one I'm glad to have read but probably won't read again.

Diane Viola was horrid. Unforgivably horrid.

Caitlin Hannah She had so many chances to redeem herself and every time: NOPE! But it did work well for the overall payoff, don't you think? Nothing is ever perfect, there are two sides to every coin.
