bookshelves: thriller

Nick Horrigan is hiding from his past, which includes a dark secret involving his involvement in his Secret Service stepfather's death. He is dragged into a political cover-up of a mother and infant daughter's murder, and will not let it go until the perpetrator is brought to justice. I was bothered by an early event, which was left unexplained until page 300 and once explained, the ending became clear.
