Ahhh!! I just love these books so much!! ^_^ They make you feel like you are watching a movie in your head while you are reading every word! (If that makes any sense lol) I love the little bits of humor that C.S. Lewis through in every once and a while like this quote,
“That's the worst of girls," said Edmund to Peter and the Dwarf. "They never can carry a map in their heads."
"That's because our heads have something inside them," said Lucy.”

I don't know why I love that quote so much, but I do :p I definitely recommend this series and of course, the movies are amazing as well! :) I really hope that they make a movie for the Silver Chair soon! Now onto the Voyage of the Dawn Treader next! :D

Tracey wrote: "YES, I'm waiting for the Silver Chair movie too!!"I know right! Me too!! I have been waiting for it since The Voyage of the Dawn Treader lol
Allison wrote: "Silver Chair....ahhh...my favorite...I used to be an expert at unearthing every little tidbit about the upcoming Narnia movies....but we haven't heard anything in a long time!!!!"I still haven't read the Silver Chair yet :( I was debating whether or not to read the CoN books by publication or chronological order....And I think I got an old version of the movie from the library a while back, but I don't remember it being very good quality :P (I just looked the movie up and it is 26 years old so that may be why I remember the graphics being pretty bad lol)
And I know :( It seems like it has been forever since we have heard anything at all about the next Chronicles of Narnia movie!! But at least I have all of the books to hold me over until hopefully they make another movie :D
Elaina - definitely read them in chronological order! :) I think you're talking about the BBC versions of the movies....yeah they weren't that great on effects, but they were very true to the books...The Silver Chair was probably the best one they did...that one doesn't require as many effects! :) Oh yeah! To quote Ducky from the Land Before Time: I hope, I hope, I HOPE!
Allison wrote: "Elaina - definitely read them in chronological order! :) I think you're talking about the BBC versions of the movies....yeah they weren't that great on effects, but they were very true to the books..."Okay, thanks for letting me know which order is best to read them! ^_^ I will have to read them chronologically the second time around that I read the series lol I have already started reading them in the publication order since I didn't have the Magician's Nephew at the time :/
And you are right, I think the movies were the BBC versions :) I really can't judge them because, if I remember correctly, I have not seen it in 5 or 6 years...I just remember laughing at some of the graphics, but again I can't judge because it was a long time ago :P
Haha! Love the Land Before Time reference! I haven't seen those movies in forever! And thank you Allison for commenting! I had fun talking to you! :)
What? Oh no! You are reading them in the wrong order!!!!! :) That's okay...they're good no matter what order you read them in!Yeah, I know what you mean, I used to laugh at those versions, but now I can look at them and appreciate their accuracy and yeah some of the effects could be hokey, but when you consider when they were made and the budget they were on, they weren't that bad. And I must say, Aslan was beautiful - his voice! Some of the acting was pretty good, especially Puddleglum.
Yay! Land Before Time! I used to LOVE those series...and 'whispers' still love them. 'shhhh'. The 1st one was really the best.
Yeah! It's fun talking to you too, Elaina! (that's such a beautiful name, BTW!)
Hehe! I know! I feel so stupid now :( lol but I most definitely will reread these books in the future and then I will read them in the correct order :DYeah, I think you are right about the versions not being all that bad as I recall, especially considering the time that they were made (1990 I am pretty sure :P)
YES I still love all of the movies and shows that I used to watch as a kid too! I remember being obsessed with the Big Comfy Couch (Not sure if you have heard of that before) lol
And thank you so much!!! ^_^
Haha, don't feel stupid about the order you read them in! The chronological vs publication order is a HUGE debate among Narnians. Personally, I recommend Chronological, but as long as you are reading them, it doesn't really matter! Some people really like publication order because you get to experience Narnia for the first time with Lucy, instead of already experiencing it in The Magician's Nephew.
Don't feel stupid! Yes! They are definitely worth re-reading! Every time I do, I find something new! Yeah, once I allowed myself to really look at them, I realized the weren't as bad as I first thought. That's correct, the Silver Chair was made in 1990 and the others were made in the late 80s.
Oh yeah, still love 'kids stuff'....better then adult stuff in my opinion! :) No! Never heard of that! 'checks it out'
:)

They majority of people that I've talked to recently about which order they like better say the chronological one is best :) Guess I should have done a little more research before I started the series, but I was so anxious to start the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe that I could not wait until I had the Magician's Nephew lol :P

Yay! That is good! I am looking forward to finishing the series so I can re-read it lol ^_^
And please don't look it up lol *gets really nervous* :p You will probably think I am weird, but I really loved that show when I was a kid lol
The best books are worth re-reading! Muhawaa! I'm gonna check 'checks' Hmm....well.... grins'....That's okay.....pssst....I watched stuff like this too....stuff like um...I don't know...Spot the Dog, Sesame Street.....and a real dumb one....Spunky the Dog....aw man, that one was pretty hokey....everybody has those things they watch when they were little that they want to forget! :)

Ahhh nooo!! lol Oh well... :P I watched Sesame Street too, but I remember LOVING Spot the Dog! And yeah, there definitely were some weird shows back when I was a kid...I remember being scared of a show called LazyTown that came out when I was six...It was pretty strange and kooky!
'grins'..... Actually, I was never big into Sesame Street....Spot was okay...I remember really liking Spunky the Dog 'cringes'.....but hey, I was seven!
I remember being scared by things on those kids shows....I look at them now and go 'pppft - I was scared of that?' On the other hand when you're seven there's things you would never even think about...and now I'm scared of them.....weird...
Allison wrote: "'grins'..... Actually, I was never big into Sesame Street....Spot was okay...I remember really liking Spunky the Dog 'cringes'.....but hey, I was seven!

Haha yeah, I don't think I was born when Spunky the Dog was on tv because I have never heard of it...but I am glad I'm not the only one with embarrassing shows that they liked as a kid :P
And sorry if I am boring you or getting on your nerves by commenting too much :P I have a habit of rambling ooon and ooooon, so don't feel like you have to reply to me haha XD
Hahaha! I just checked and realized there was more than one series about Spunky the Dog....I'm talking about the Christian tv movies that started in the 2000s and the first one was called Spunky's First Christmas....You're not boring me...I find this quite fascinating :) Really, I do!
'shakes hands' Meet a fellow rambler....but sure...we an bring this to a close... 'grins'
'whispers' I just can't help myself sometimes!
