it was ok

I was given this for Christmas, so admittedly, it's not a book I would have picked out for myself to read. That said, I found many of the descriptions of his other dangerous ventures to be self serving and foolish. He mentions putting two friends into extreme danger, and then basically does not own up to any responsibility by shifting it to their lack of experience and skill. Not cool. "Sorry" is what you're supposed to say when you screw up that badly. As far as his writing goes, if he did it himself, it's not bad. He just meanders a bit too much. Still not clear on what his major epiphany was down in that canyon either. What, just that he should take measures and inform people of where he's going? Nothing about trying to be nicer, or serve humanity better, or work with amputees or anything?

I'm calling him out as shallow and immature. The book reads like a "brag book."
