Alice Munro never disappoints. I read this in a long line of reading Munro's stories at an obsessive rate. Munro is a master storyteller -- in this collection alone, she includes main characters who are loner woodsmen, young and coveted students, voice actors on Canadian radio and finally, in the final chapters (which essentially compose a complete novella) 19th century traveling Russian mathematicians. I am always impressed with Munro's ability to throw in a bizarre plot point just when you think you have the characters figured out. I enjoy how she gives the reader a moment in time with her characters -- a beautiful and always fascinating look at the human experience. Highly recommended.
