Beg For Mercy (Mercy, #3)

I almost didn't read this book because I didn't want the story to end. I'm truly sad to let Sade and Mercy go. That being said, although I loved the book, I felt like I didn't get the ending I was expecting. Yeah, we get closure regarding Father Abraham and Sade's dad but it was over with pretty quickly. I thought the scenes would have been longer considering the lead up from the previous books. This didn't take away from my overall enjoyment of the book, but it did give me pause.
I loved how Sade was described in this one. The demons he fought seemed to be winning. An example of this that I liked was: “He looked at her, still pacing as though he were barely hanging on. “I need you but you need to leave,” he gasped shaking his head. “I should be restrained, you need to leave, you need to tie me up. Oh my God, don’t fucking try to leave this room, Mercy.”
And
“Why would God…” his voice trembled out with several gasps, “send me… an angel?” He turned to her, so confused, his bloodshot eyes, pleading for answers. “Do you think…” his voice barely whispered now, “that maybe… He made a mistake?”
This man's struggles with himself were some ish. Luckily he had Mercy and her love to help him. Not to mention her dad, his mom, Bo and Liberty. All of whom had their own demons to conquer.
The ending, although sweet (and at the very end unexpected) was much too short for me. I wanted so much more but I guess I should be grateful I got something lol. Lucian Bane truly captivated me with this saga and I'm thrilled I took a chance with this.
