it was amazing
bookshelves: read-2011, five-stars

I only got the book because i like James Franco, had someone else written it i wouldn't have got it. Books about teenagers just bore me, especially the ones that have the same formula of problems that you've seen a million times before. I would have been more surprised had Franco done a book and not included drugs, he seems to be very influenced in just writing about them. Good time max (a movie he wrote) was all about max being a drug user and his brother was a doctor and i think the stories in this book followed the same pattern, they all seemed to be on a downwards slope, something awful has happened, and their family or friends seem to be doing much better than them. Each story pretty much follows like that and none of them have a definitive ending. Saying all of that i did still like it, it's not boring, i read it pretty quickly and its a good book, i would just hope if Franco was going to do another book, leave the high teenagers alone.
