liked it

I learned a lot from this book about race relations from 1900-1970. I liked the way the author used three families to move the story along but I got tired of the summaries of the previous chapter at the beginning of each new chapter. I had just read it and didn't need to be reminded. I think that slowed down the pace of the book a lot.
