This was interesting: a hard-boiled Raymond Chandler type mystery set in 1936 Germany. Ordinary citizens caught up in treacherous and sordid Nazi Germany with prominent Nazis as peripheral characters. This is the first of a series involving the main character, Bernard Gunther. I've requested the 2nd in the series from the library.

Michael I read this book when it first came out after a recommendation from the mystery bookstore owner whose store I was shopping at at the time. I remember it being noirish and liking it but I can't remember why I liked it or anything plotwise about the book.
