really liked it
bookshelves: young-adult, 1-10

Brian Robeson is going through the divorce of his parents and is embarking on his first summer visit to his father in Alaska. While traveling there the pilot has a heart attack and Brian is suddenly alone flying the plane just waiting for it to crash. Brian survives the crash and the rest of the book documents his adventures trying to survive out in the wild with nothing more than a hatchet that his mother gave him before he left.

I read this book in 2nd grade, or rather my teacher read it to the class but I loved it then and I loved it now. Another quick read. It really made me wonder if I had the strength and guts to survive out in the wild like Brian did. I am going to have my mom buy it for my younger brothers because it is a book that I know they would love.
