I loved this novel. Told from the perspective of 12 1/2 year old Aris as she is trying to write a novel, the story unfolds in sections as Aris follows the instructions in her novel writing handbook: Describe the setting. Introduce characters. As the story unfolds, Aris reveals an all-too-adult view of her disfunctional family, all the while seeing things simplistically as only a kid can do. This was a refreshing and original voice, and I'm looking forward to more from this author.
