So far I like it... But it is very derivative of eager and lewis and looks dated. I know librarians will enjoy, kids? It was a cute book, but that cover...

Josh Newhouse Finished it. Liked it, but think it is dated. Odd title, Awful cover, old-fashioned... Truly a book for librArians:) but kids? Nice homage which sometimes feels a little derivative.

Ruie Josh, I read this a while ago. I found it in a bookstore in Iowa City, Iowa. (my hometown) The author is from Iowa I believe and if not, she was in the Iowa's writers worksop program. I felt the same as you. Don't blame the author for the cover. I felt the same way you did. I have it in my library and a few kids have read it, but not many. My students are very into what's hot.
