When two boys overhear a couple of their teachers speaking in an unrecognizable language, their suspicions lead them into an adventure of intergalactic proportions. I found the writing to be somewhat humorous (the sister's boyfriend with the "brain of a toilet brush" or a teacher described as "a stick insect with weird socks"), but the story was a bit over the top. But I suppose that is what kids like.

I listened to the audiobook version entertainingly read by a Brit who kind of reminded me of Ricky Gervais. His performance probably increased my rating of the book from 2 to 3 stars. Not sure I would have enjoyed it as much if I had just been reading it myself.
