really liked it
bookshelves: classics, science-fiction

A full review exploring the implications and nuances of this short story can probably be found elsewhere, but I wouldn't recommend seeking one out before you read it, which is why I'm refraining from writing one myself. Rather, consider this a hearty recommendation to read this, especially if you're in religious studies, English, or history, but really any academic field. I found E.M. Forster's messages about how we communicate and how knowledge gains currency to be just as haunting and relevant as his forecast about our mechanized future.
