More about the South and the peculiar way of life! This one is in the 1920's and involves a Jewish family. I found it fascinating to hear about this particular kind of retail store. In an afterword, the author says that this is how Rich's Department Store in Atlanta came into being! Since I grew up there, I was especially interested.
Everyone is an "outsider" at some point in their life -- it's good to read about it from the outsider viewpoint.
