The book starts off with Brandy going into labor and ultimately losing her baby during childbirth and it just absolutely broke my heart. Brandy spirals into a deep depression (understandably so) and her husband takes off to New York for six months for work.

While Weston is in New York, he barely communicates with his despondent wife, except for a few drunken phone calls and some weird late night apology, Brandy tries desperately to reach him. Instead she reaches his very rude secretary, Carol Smith, who is very rude to Brandy and not to happy that Weston is married……..

Brandy is beginning to move forward from the loss of her baby, is writing again and starts to exercise outside. While having coffee, Brandy runs into her old schoolmate from high school, Edward Barnes, a now successful criminal attorney. Edward invites her over for dinner to his house and more than dinner is served.

Brandy realizes what she has done and is determined to tell her her husband when he returns home during Labor Day weekend, a few days after getting it on with Edward. Brandy and Weston “make up” all weekend long and she decides to tell Weston about her little tryst until Weston returns home permanently. Christmas Eve rolls around and Brandy discovers that she is pregnant and she and Weston are just as happy as can be. Weston returns in January conveniently with his secretary in tow.

This time, Brandy tells Weston about her little tryst with Edward. Weston, of course, is upset and has is own confession to make….imagine that! Brandy and Weston forgive each other and look forward to the birth of their child until Edward sees Brandy who is clearly pregnant and does the math. Edward forces Brandy to do a DNA test in utero to determine who the father is.

Needless to say, Edward is the father of Brandy’s baby, which sends Weston running.(I thought they forgave each other?) Where does Weston run to? It seems that is the only thing Weston is good at is running.

Will Brady and Weston give their marriage another chance? Does Brandy run to Edward? How will this work out with Edward wanting to be a father? You will have to read the book.

Honestly, there is so much that goes on in this book with the different things that happen to Brandy, Weston and Edward that it got to be come on already, seriously? My head was spinning between a Lifetime movie and a soap opera.

Thank you to the author for giving me this book in exchange for an honest review.
