Read before being awarded a prize and sometimes I think that colors my judgment. Often, if I read after, my standards are strangely - higher? Anyway, it was gentle and sad and made me want to listen to Tupac more, or at least read his lyrics. D was as elusive as Tupac - in our lives only for a few pages, really. I wonder if we attribute Greater Things to those who touch us briefly and then are gone. If Tupac would have been as great if he'd been able to grow old.
