A softer novel than the slightly off putting title would have you suspect. A 90 year old reclusive bachelor falls in love (as opposed ot lust) with a 14 year old girl. Very little character devlopment save for the geriatric protagonist. Overall, an interesting read, as are all of Marquez' work - although not his very best.
