Make Me (Jack Reacher, #20)

Okay, full disclosure: I gave Lee Child's previous book (Personal) only one star. But as bad as Personal was, Make Me is that good. Personal was set in Paris, and it felt like the showdown at the end got away from Child.
With this book, Child is back on familiar ground: a desolate town in the Midwest. A beautiful, intelligent companion. And a terrible secret that only Reacher can uncover and put right. This book is one of Child's best in my opinion, so even though it's a thriller you'd read on an airplane, I'm gonna go ahead and give it five stars.
The pacing is taut. There's satisfying brawls and Reach gets to outsmart bad guys. What more could you ask for? What's that, you want a mention of Google and search engine optimization? Well, you get that in this book! (But don't worry, Child doesn't get into whether subdirectories or subdomains are better--it's mostly just for setting a scene.)
If you enjoy other Jack Reacher books, you should like this one just fine. If you've never read any Jack Reacher books, instead start with the first one, Killing Floor.
