I don't know why it took me this long to read Lexicon, but once I started, I inhaled it within a couple days. I'd previously read Jennifer Government, but now Lexicon stands as my favorite Max Barry novel.
Some of the language parts of the novel may remind you of the language subplot of Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash. Meanwhile, the narrative structure of Lexicon starts with the tried-and-true method of switching between Wil's story and Emily's story, but Barry switches things up enough that it reminded me a little bit of Pulp Fiction--I kind of want to go back and read the book again to fit all the little pieces together.
Bottom-line, Lexicon has enough unique ideas and satisfying action to keep things moving along well.
