liked it

It was enjoyable but didn't go in to the expat life as much as I had hoped. This was a bit too comfortable, more about high end food and the American vs. French mentality than the actual experience of making the transition from everyday American life to picking up and moving to France. Occasional stories where he relates the differences of trying to celebrate Christmas in France were attempts but almost too pat and cute.

Some of the stories about family life were nice and worth reading, but I guess my expectations going in provided more of a let down than the actual stories themselves.

Anyways, his writing is nice and I like his thoughts on raising a family. I don't know how he would try to market this otherwise but it just didn't fulfill the conception I had going in I guess.
