I'll start off by saying that I won this book from the Goodreads First Reads program. So, thank you Goodreads and Goodloe Byron.

Confusing is the word that comes to mind. First, the plot is strange and doesn't seem to go anywhere interesting or important for a long while. Then when it does it is so outlandish that it is difficult to apply any kind of logic to it to make it make any sense. A young man out on his own for the first time and feeling like he's being stalked by an elderly neighbor. It seems easy enough to follow but the perspective of the protagonist is so skewed that at times it felt like maybe we were all on a really bad trip. Not only was the plot a head scratcher, but the grammatical errors and lack of quotations around dialogue were a bit of an annoyance. I had to reread passages several times to figure out who said what, and that coupled with the weirdness of the story just made reading this book a chore.
