it was amazing
bookshelves: womens-fiction, lyrical-press, romance

I really love this book. It doesn't follow the usual path for a second chance romance as the 'before' is shown through flashbacks, rather than just sniping or the sadness of the heroine in the present. Neither does the heroine pine for the hero, and she hasn't put her life on hold to await his return. There is the bitter-sweetness of what could have been before it all went awry, and the chance to champion the characters as they test the water again, and there is also a lot of humour and a great hero with some really fantastic lines. :-) While Jocelyn isn't necessarily the easiest heroine to like, there is something realistic in her bravado and hurt that shouldn't be dismissed. Storybook Lake sounds like a fantastic small town and I can't wait for my return visit. :-)
