really liked it
Read from September 10 to 16, 2015

I'll be honest it took me a while to get to grips with this book. After such a brutal opening, I was on edge .. but I'm glad I held my nerve.

I feel I learnt a lot about Kenya, the politics and it was culturally fascinating and educational. The characters within the story were very believable, to the extent that I wanted to know they were, how things would work out of them and I was urged to read more and more.

I completed the book in 2 days (in hospital with a sick boy means lots of waiting, worrying and sleepless nights)!

If I'm honest I would have liked a romantic ending and if I'm perfectly honest I desperately wanted Viktor to get his just desserts.... but then I guess the sequel and third novel will reveal more!

An emotive read and one I'd recommend, although I wish I'd got the other two books waiting in the wings.
