Remarkable! Hard read but remarkable. Not so much in the information and endless argumentation, rationalisations and justifications, but in the glimpse we get into the incredibly insightful and forward-thinking man that Darwin was, while surrounded by contemporaries holding on to irrational and indefensible views about nature, evolution and the role of God. On a practical note, I would recommend reading only the final chapters and summaries to get basically all of relevant information, if this is what you are interested in: there is much repetition throughout the text, and the style of prose is also in itself very repetitive.
