This is another great story by Kresley Cole. No. 6 in Immortals After Dark Series and just as good as the rest.

Rage Demon, Cadeon Woede has been watching over human, Holly Ashwin for a year, he knows he can’t have her because she is human but something draws her to him. So he is there to rescue her when she is kidnapped by some other demons because she is the vessel this time round. Cadeon too has been looking for the vessel so he can use it to trade a sorcerer for a special sword that will help him get his brother’s kingdom back. He had not realized that his Holly was the vessel and that she was in fact half Valkyrie and therefore in time she would be immortal and that she was his female.

Holly has been bought up as a human and has no idea what is happening to her, she initially goes along with Cadeon because he said that this sorcerer could stop the change – he lied!

This story is a good stand alone, though you do meet some characters from earlier books, Kresley explains well how things fit together with her tales of the lore. There is a lot of action & loving – I found it at times quite a thrilling read.
