Whenever I start a series, I make sure to read the very first and since this prequel is a short story, I'm impressed how focused it was and I found it difficult to rate it.

So here's Abby who waited in line to see the First Wizard, Zedd and asked for his help. Even after the rejection she persisted until she got what she wanted. The whole twist caught me unawares. I liked the unpredictability of the story and it had a simple plot.

There was violence and magic, exactly what I was looking for, and I'm looking forward to reading about this different world. I'm most interested in magic and the paranormal and I hope I would agree with the high ratings for the next books in the series.

Given that this turned into a TV show (that I'm not gonna watch), I'm excited by the concepts, characters, and the fantasy.
