After a rocky start to the series (I gave the first book quite a scathing review), I've really grown attached to the story and characters. Carter has always been a favorite of mine, and I liked him even more after finishing this book.

Some reviewers have complained that Georgina is even more whiny and self-absorbed than usual and yes, she is. She's definitely more emo than you'd ever expect from one of hell's servants. She's also frequently oblivious and a bit slow on the uptake when it comes to the big "mystery" surrounding the contracts. Most readers figured this out during the last book, so seeing Georgina struggle to put the clues together was frustrating.

The sex scenes were also lacking. The final one in particular could have been so emotional and intense, but instead it's breezed over in a very un-Georgina way.

The two things about the book that really rankled me happened at the end.

I enjoyed the book overall, but it certainly isn't my favorite in the series.
