it was amazing

I felt compelled to write this book about my previous complete submersion and now ongoing struggles with Selective Mutism and Social Anxiety. The book took me four years of thinking and not thinking and writing and doing anything but writing. I wanted a unique way to tell this tale and I had a number of concepts that I have incorporated into this book such as imagery is the language of the body, progressive relaxation technique, spinal roll exercise for relieving tension, being stalked by a tiger to represent fight or flight response, the snakes on the head of medusa to represent bad thoughts or miswired synapses. I wanted my book to be feeling driven and the conclusion, aspirational as yet, to be a fully connected and free voice, everyones birth right.

NewEnglandRose Dear DJ Sharry, My son has SM and is doing well, thank goodness. Thank you for writing this book - you are so brave. When my son is older, I'll be sure that he reads it. I hope you find happiness.
