“Family over family.”

This was an interesting YA fantasy story, with some detailed world building.

I liked Lea in this story, she was an assassin, and she seriously owned that title. She believed that murder was exactly what her Goddess expected of her, and had no problems dishing it out, even when lines got a bit blurred! I did feel pretty sorry for her over what happened to her Family though.

The storyline in this was pretty good, but there was a big patch when the pace just dragged. The world building was good, and seemed well thought out, but the slow pace did let it all down a bit.
There was some romance in this, which started out of the ‘Romeo and Juliet’ forbidden-love variety, but then changed a bit as we got further into the story.

The ending to this was okay, and went in a slightly different direction to that expected, not that that was a bad thing.
