The best thing I can say about this book is that the Coen brothers did a very faithful adaptation. I saw the movie first, which may have spoiled me on the book, but that doesn't mean the book was bad. I just don't think the voices of any of the characters would have been very strong for me if I hadn't heard them speaking in the movie. There's a paucity of description and an ambiguous tone that make it hard for me to figure out how I'm supposed to read certain scenes. But overall, it was okay. And if you like Westerns, I guess you'd like this too.
