Loved the illustration. Kinda like Brian Wildsmith with Adobe Illustrator. There is no story here though, just an unnecessary fold-out gimmick that'll cost you $15.99. If you want that, read Ernest, the Moose Who Doesn't Fit instead.

Lovely to look at though! Would've worked better as a boardbook, if you ask me.

Jackie Remember repition and rhyme (not just story) are essential for kids as they learn to read.

nicole Absolutely, I just think other books do it better than this one. I didn't find much humor in the repetition, and conclusion of this particular book, and to me, it seemed like it's aim was to be at least slightly comical. I thought it fell flat and the fold-out, the grand finale essentially, wasn't very successful. If I was interested in by something that was repetitive and solely a learning tool, rather than an entertaining book, I'd buy a $4 I Can Read title, not this. But I like the illustration a lot, which is why I reviewed it, so I can recall it.
