The Bronze Horseman was more gripping and heart-wrenching than this second book. This was just a little slower paced in the beginning and the middle but boy did it pick up speed at the end, I couldn't put it down the last 100 pages.

I learned a considerable amount having to do with the Nazis and the Soviets towards the end of the WWII and what happened after the war. I am afraid I did not know any of this information. Very tragic.

Brenda The reason you don't know much about history, (and I was appalled at what Nikelle also didn't know) is because the schools have been teaching the "Social Sciences" instead of History for about 35 years now. It's appalling how little your generation knows about AMERICAN history, let alone world history.
