For a Jane Austen spin-off where a modern-day girl is sent back in time, this wasn't that bad. Compared to Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict, I'd have to say that Callie fumbled her way through the era a lot better than Courtney, even if a few moments really grated on all common sense. I realize that some things have to be at odds between a modern-day character and a stringent society like that, and in Callie's case she is a teenager and they tend to defy social rules even in this century. So I give Callie more credit because of her age, plus she admits that she doesn't know a lot about the period to begin with, compared to Courtney's self-purported addiction to all things Austen.
Setting aside the comparisons, this was light and fun, if a little shallow.
