The book Deep and Dark and Dangerous is about a girl named Ali who finds a photograph of her mother, her aunt and some other person marked as T. Confused, she decided to spend a 2 month vacation with her Aunt Dulcie and her cousin Emma. Later, Emma and Ali encounters a girl named Sissi. Sissi is very mean and harsh towards Emma. However, Alit later finds out that Sissi has something to do with the old photograph that she had previously founded. Ali anxouisly wants to know. But she has to be VERY careful if she wants to extract information from Sissi.

I love this book! The plot is very chilling and scary! I love how Mary Downing Hahn made the story like a puzzle. She puts tiny little hints in the story, and once you put it all together, you get one big picture of the story! Out of all the horror books I had read, this would be probaly the 4th book that I had really enjoyed. Its suspenseful yet understandable. On a scale of 1-10, I would give this book a 8 because of its originality and creativety.
