really liked it

Describing her own experience in the Peace Corps, Schmidt tells less of a story of melding with another culture and more of a story of the discomforts and frustrations of a young American woman living in an African village. She doesn't sugar coat or romanticize any of this experience, which made it a more satisfying read than a less honest book might have been.
