Blount, Roy, Jr. HAIL, HAIL, EUPHORIA! PRESENTING THE MARX BROTHERS IN DUCK SOUP – THE GREATEST WAR MOVIE EVER MADE. (2010). ***. This book is so unlike most of Blount’s other works that you wonder where it came from. He is obviously a fan of the Marx Brothers – as most of us are – and a particular fan of their film, “Duck Soup.” In this very long essay (144pp.) he takes us through the movie almost frame by frame, explaining all the puns and providing some background for each as it was being filmed. Even if you are a big fan, it become tiring after a while. It’s a good edition to end all editions on this film. It does have some good candid photographs, though.
