Sirantha Jax is on New Terra recovering from the adventures in Grimspace. She is appointed ambassador to the outer planet Ithiss-Tor and must head out quickly after her mother comes to Sirantha and tells her she must cooperate with the Syndicate in order to keep them from killing her mother. Along the way, her ship end up at Emry Station and has to overcome an attack from the Morgut race, who are carnivorous and view humans as delicious. Then Sirantha and the crew end up back on Lachion Station in the midst of a civil war. Sirantha discovers she is suffering from grimspace withdrawal that is sapping her bones and body and leaving her vulnerable and weak. After many more adventures, the crew finally ends up heading to Ithiss-Tor for Sirantha to take up her diplomatic duties. Another great space opera adventure; if you like Miles Vorsagian, this series is a good substitute.
