This is a fantastic book about the AIDS crisis in Africa, taken from a completely new perspective. Though it is journalistic in style, the author focuses on one woman and the hurdles she must clear to save only a small fraction of the children affected by AIDS in Ethiopia. Greene does an excellent job of portraying many perspectives, and although many of them are speculative, it really adds to the character of the book to hear the imagined thoughts of a child or the bitter resentment of local women.
