it was amazing
bookshelves: 2010-books, historical-fiction

I couldn't put this one down, and it made me remember why I love historical fiction so much. This one has great writing, vivid historical description, and terrific pacing, but the best part of this book for me is the characters. I felt like I was going to burst in sympathy for Margaret. Imagine being kidnapped and held captive for years only to be released to discover that your husband has moved almost around the world... and has a new wife. I wanted to take her home with me--maybe even set her up a profile. This woman deserves to be happy!! Three cheers for Johanna Moran; she's a fantastic writer.
