really liked it
bookshelves: dystopia, audible

Just finished this via audiobook. Have been listening to it when on the treadmill so even though I was dying to find out what was going on... It was a good motivator to keep going to the gym! The book was disturbing and riveting. The narrator did an excellent job with all of the characters....

It's been awhile since a book really made me think (Jellicoe Road was the last one) about all aspects in life. It was wondeful. About every range of emotion passed through me at various points in the novel. I don't want to post any spoilers as I kind of went into this blind and that makes it better! Just oicked it up based on recommendations and the fact that I've been on a dystopian binge lately. I would say this is between 3.5 and 5 stars, while I liked the characters and the plot, some of the elements just were kind of out of place or seemed off. Overall would definitely recommend this one to anyone with tastes similar to mine. The adventure/action was good, concept pretty solid, a slight mystey took place at the midpoint, a tad of tasteful romance (very very minimal but still there and I don't mind a bit of that at all) and a bit of drama. Could even say 'horror' in one chapter (read it and you'll know which chapter I'm talking about).

Will be looking into more of the authors works as I liked his style. Happy readin!
