really liked it
bookshelves: audio-book, urban-fantasy

I read the first book in this series, and was pretty ambivilent about it - it was ok, but not really my style. I skipped the second, and then listened to this as an audio book. It was fantastic - really well paced, great twisted use of fairytales, and such a tense story - really enjoyable dark urban fantasy. I think this series has just taken a couple of books to get into its stride.

Alice I didn't even finish the first book, but may give it another go now. I'm glad it gets better as I did find the premise interesting and different to a lot of the other 'urban fantasy' out there.

Some great series can start out very average, Terry Pratchett's Colour of Magic comes to mind.
