Methland is a fascinating account of the meth epidemic in America viewed through the lens of the small town of Oelwein, Iowa. Reding takes a journalist’s approach as he visits Oelwein, a formerly prosperous small Midwestern town that is currently suffering from agricultural job loss, out-migration of its populace, and the devastating effects of meth use, over a period of 4 years.
